Emil Dekov was born 1932 in Bulgaria. He began his musical studies in Sofia. In 1954 he graduated from the conservatorium as their best student. He continued his studies and in the late 50's he started performing more regularly. At the age of 26 he became first concertmaster at the State Opera in Sofia.
Emil Dekov came to Sweden in 1963 by invitation of Örebro Orchestra Foundation. He played with the Örebro Chamber Orchestra for two years before moving on to the Stockholm Philharmonics.
In addition to Bulgaria and Sweden Emil Dekov has held concerts in England, Germany, France, Austria, Holland and Denmark. Emil Dekov has attracted a lot of attention as a violin soloist around the world
